This is what was in my plate along with my rice the other day’s lunch… Well, it’s just it, dinengdeng only. The only food that I can afford, the only viand that I crave, the only thing that I wanted and prefer alongside fatty meat dishes… Poor me! That’s tarong, patola shoots and flowers, and bilonak (kubay, alugbati) leaves, and kamotit (sweet potato) leaves. Boiled mildly with bugguong. It’s just that, light and simple. It’s not complicated except its heavenly aroma and taste and the comfort (burpp!) it brings to a poor diner like me.
