The papait (mollugo oppositifolia Linn.), also called sarsalida and malagoso in Tagalog, and slender carpetweed in English, cheng geng xing su cao in Chinese, is popular among bitter-loving Ilokanos who has the distinct and rather unique taste preference for something bitter–the more bitter, the better.
